On May 27, 2021, within the framework of the project “Strengthening the legal protection of migrants’ rights in Kazakhstan”, the Legal Policy Research Center organized a round table on the topic “The influence of various actors on migration processes in the Republic of Kazakhstan”.
The Round table was devoted to the discussion of the activities of various actors, in one way or another, involved in the realization of the rights and freedoms of migrants in Kazakhstan. The range of problems faced by migrants in the context of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic was also considered.
The participants of the Round table discussed topics affecting the situation of migrants in the country: difficulties of employment and taxation, documentation, positive experience of non-governmental organizations, access of migrants to justice, to medical services, as well as to education.
Following the results of the event, recommendations on improving migration legislation were collected and classified in accordance with the topics discussed during the Round table.
