Dear lawyers! We are pleased to announce an important news: as part of the ongoing project on the rights of migrants, the LPRC plans to hold a moot court among lawyers of Kazakhstan.

Moot court is a legal competition that simulates the consideration of a case in a state or international court. Moot court cases are an excellent platform for practicing lawyers. Participation in the moot court gives you the opportunity to expand your experience, hone the skills of written and oral evidence and teamwork.

Russian lawyer Dmitry Bartenev, head of the human rights practice at Onegin Group, Elvira Bokhanova, lawyer of the Almaty City Bar Association, and Madina Berkali, international lawyer, captain of the Kazakhstan team in the F. C. Jessup 2015 Cup, will help us in conducting the moot court.

Please take into account that when selecting participants, the advantage will be given to non-profit organizations that have passed a cycle of trainings for lawyers and lawyers dedicated to the strategic judicial protection of migrants and ensuring the exchange of best practices and strategies between Kazakh and European lawyers (August 28-29 and September 12, 2020).

Registration will last until April 2, 2021.

The moot court is organized by the Legal Policy Research Center (LPRC) in cooperation with the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) and the International Commission of Jurists – European Institutions (ICJ-EI), with financial support from the European Union under the project “Strengthening Legal Protection of Migrants’ Rights in Kazakhstan”.
